Who we are

Seeds of Morning Glory, Inc. (501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 37-1882595) operates this website and the programmes described on it. You can reach us at seedsofmorningglory@yahoo.com or (562) 708-5025.

What we collect

If you contact us or sign up: your name, email, phone number and whatever you write to us.

If you donate: your name, contact details, and the amount and date of your gift. Card details are handled entirely by our payment processor — they pass from your browser to the processor and are never stored on our systems.

If you volunteer: your contact details, availability, skills, and — for roles that require it — the status of a background check or food handler certification.

If you receive food assistance: your name, contact details, household size and composition, and the dates and amounts of food you received. Some food programmes require us to record a self-declaration of eligibility. We do not verify your income and we do not ask for documents to prove it.

How we use it

To run our programmes, to send you a receipt for a gift, to contact you about something you asked about, and to report totals to the funders and government programmes that make our work possible.

Reports never contain the names of people who receive food. They contain counts — households served, pounds distributed, and similar figures.

What we never do

• We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
• We never add someone to a fundraising list because they asked us for food. Those are separate records with separate access, and staff who work on fundraising cannot see client service records.
• We never share your information with immigration or law enforcement except where the law compels us.

Analytics and cookies

We measure website traffic using a privacy-preserving analytics service operated by our web partner, Orange Duck Studios. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page visited, where you arrived from, and your screen size. Your IP address is used momentarily to generate a daily-rotating, non-reversible visitor code and is never stored.

We use cookies only where they are strictly necessary — to keep you signed in if you have an account with us.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. To make a request, email seedsofmorningglory@yahoo.com or call (562) 708-5025.

We keep some records longer than you might expect — donation records for tax and audit purposes, and food programme records for as long as the funding programme requires. We will tell you if that applies to your request.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 through it. Children in a household receiving food assistance are recorded as a count and, where a programme requires it, an age — never more than the programme needs.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. See also our donor privacy promise.
