About us

Our story and our team

Our mission at Seeds of Morning Glory is to impact, empower, and enrich the lives of people in our communities.

Who we are

Seeds of Morning Glory is a Long Beach nonprofit working against food insecurity in the neighbourhoods where our team lives. We are small, we are volunteer-heavy, and the distance between a donation and a family with groceries is very short.

Coming soon: our origin story

The founding story — how and why Mildred Burge started Seeds of Morning Glory, and what the organization has grown into — is the strongest thing this page can carry, and it has never been written down anywhere on the site. A few paragraphs in her own words would do it.

Coming soon: team biographies

Each person above has a photo and a title but no biography — a sentence or two each about what they do and why turns a staff grid into a reason to trust the organization.
